My Concert Picture Taking Journey
It all started about 19 years ago when my son came across one of my Kiss cd's. He was 7 at the time and became very interested in their music without any knowledge of the costumes and makeup. I went out and bought some dvd's for him to see some of their live shows. That Summer Kiss just happened to be playing not far from our house so I took him to his first live show ever. Meanwhile I haven't been to a live show in over 25 years so I was more nervous then him. It turned out we had a great time so on to another we went Motley Crue and again we had a great time. These two shows led us to in a very short time attending approx. 100 live shows a year. This lasted for many years as I documented our journey through my images. About 7 years into it I started providing photo coverage on a professional level for Amp Magazine. Since then I have provided photo coverage for many publications, bands and venues. I now cover over 300 shows a year with no stopping in sight. I am the house photographer for the legendary Stone Pony and Asbury Lanes in Asbury Park, NJ. and one of the house photographers for Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, NJ. I am the official photographer for many major events in New Jersey as well as cover so many other cool events around the state. I have been internationally, Nationally and locally published many times and I am the winner of the Asbury Music Award Top Music Photographer 5 years running. It's been an amazing journey that has taken me places I couldn't ever have imagined years ago. A big part of my story is I am a recovering Addict and Alcoholic who recently celebrated 36 years of being clean and sober.
